The Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Alhaji Adamu Mustapha, has pledged his administration’s support to rural health care service delivery in the area.
Adamu stated this while declaring open a two-day workshop titled ‘Helping Babies Breath (HBB)’ organised by the Paediatric Association of Nigeria (PAN) held at the council conference hall on Thursday.
He noted that the training workshop was timely and worth supporting by the council, assuring that adequate arrangement would be put in place to ensure that health centres and clinics were also equipped for neonatal resuscitation.
Also speaking, president of the Nigerian Society of Neonatal Medicine, a Consultant/Paediatrician, Prof. Chinyere Eze Amaka, said the workshop was organised to train practitioners on safe child delivery.
She said it was important to ensure the survival of every child delivered without recourse to the old method of making babies breath.
She urged the authorities of the council to help in bringing the issues to reality.
